The Callaway uPro Golf GPS is the latest innovative unit to come out of the golf gps devices market. Most of the hype about it focuses on its innovations as well as its continuous search for excellence with its new and unprecedented features. No wonder many golfers, both first-timers and experienced, are choosing this model among others when it comes to helping them improve their game.
The Callaway uPro Golf GPS is more than just the typical golf gps devices that show satellite images of your current course. More than anything, it helps you gain and grasp a deeper understanding, as well as a better appreciation of the different aspects of the game. But in order to enjoy this device to its entirety, the Basic Mode that comes for free may not be enough. Paying an amount that usually ranges from $1.20 to $10 for a Pro Mode map will definitely be worth every cent for the additional, more accurate features that come along with it.
The Callaway uPro Golf GPS Pro Mode maps have the ability to feature a video flyover as well as a satellite map of each of the eighteen holes in the golf course with its Smartview feature. They are also capable of measuring distances from and to any point on the course, no matter how close you are to the hole. This simple feature serves as proof of its accuracy since typical golf gps devices often stop showing distances in yards once the golfer is within a 30 to 50-yard radius from the hole.
The Callaway uPro Golf GPS’s control buttons are made easier to familiarize with by a set of preloaded introductory videos that come with an audio track that adds a level of enjoyment to the whole learning process. And compared to other golf gps devices that are so thick they could pass for murder weapons, this particular model is lightweight and slim and would definitely fit comfortably into your pocket between swings.
One glaring drawback of this device is its short battery life. However, it does offer ways to change your preferences to help save power, like reducing the screen’s brightness as well as reducing the time before the device goes into ‘sleep mode’. There are a lot of other ways by which the preferences on these golf gps devices can be adjusted to suit your personal needs and tastes.
A couple of important features on this device are the Shot Tracking and the Scoring Plus module. Shot Tracking is an interface that marks the distance from each shot. When combined with the Scoring Plus module, this feature actually has the ability to indicate and record the type of club you used to make that shot, which is especially useful if you want to keep track of the minimum, average as well as the maximum distances that a swing with each club can take.
The Scoring Plus module, which you can install as an additional feature in your device for $20, gives the Callaway uPro Golf GPS the ability to track the scores for four players; in-depth statistics, however, can only be tracked for one. The summary of the scores and statistics are easily accessible by clicking the appropriate tab for easy contrasts and comparisons. Among golf gps devices, this particular unit is preferred by most golfers who aim to better their games.

Thanks for the review. I didn't know about it. Any amature golfer needs this GPS! It is the pits to lose your ball when the sun gets into your eyes, but the Shot Tracking feature gives you a way to measure improvement.
